MOVIE: STICK IT

This movie is about artistic gymnastics. This movie is about a rebellious teenager that walked out of a World’s Championship competition two years ago and now she is forced to go back because of a rebellious move she had done. The judge tells her that she could either go to juvenile detention or go to the Vickerman Gymnastics Academy. She chose to go back to gymnastics. At first in practice she wasn’t trying hard but once she found out there was a competition coming up with a cash prize she worked hard to try to achieve that to pay off her $14, 000 property damage. At the World’s Championship Finals for a second time the 4 girls that are competing with Haley include her (The rebellious teenager) are getting low scores from the judges because of their coach Burt. So her and her team mates come up with a way to challenge the rules and starch one by one, letting one girl actually do her routine, so that girl would win the goal medal with no say from the judges because she had been the only one to do her routine. She learns that there are more valuable things in life then winning medals and ribbons.

Aerobic Gymnastics

Aerobic gymnastics is a minute to a minute and a half routine which involves the performance of routines by individuals, pairs, trios or groups up to 6 people, showing strength, flexibility, and aerobic fitness.

I had a basic idea of aerobic gymnastics but once I watched a video of what it actually was I was quite amazed. Have a look at the following video and give me some feed backs.

Trampoline and Tumbling

Trampoline and tumbling consists of four events: individual, synchronized, double mini and power tumbling.

In individual routines they are required to jump to achieve the height they need to perform a sequence of aerial skills.

Synchronized trampoline is done with a partner. In this type of routine they are marked on their synchronized routine done together, as well as their form and the difficulty of their moves.

Double mini trampoline is a smaller trampoline with a run-up were two moves are to be performed then two more for the final round.

In power tumbling, athletes perform a repetitive amount of series of flips and twists down a tumbling track.

All of these events have a similiar scoring point system. Most of them are out of 10 point score.

Rhythmic Gymnastics

Rhythmic gymnastics is only done by by women. This sport involves five apparatus like ball, ribbon, hoop, clubs and rope which is done on the floor with music. During this routine you have to show a certain amount or leaps, balances, pivots, flexibility, apparatus handling, and artistic effects. These routines are usually scored out of 20 points. It is a beautiful sport but I rather my type of gymnastics which is artistic gymnastics.
